What should I wear?
Clothes are good, pjs might make others look at you funny but if you are in a suit you might feel out of place. We care a lot more about you than we do your clothes. If it helps you out, our staff and band are usually in jeans. So just come as you are.
What's the music like?
Although everyone wants to give old organs to churches, we've always said no thanks. WayPoint, our live band has guitars, drums, keys, bass and vocalists. The great thing is, the music is loud enough that you can sing along and you don't have to worry about other people hearing you. Just give God your praise!
We celebrate Holy Communion together every Sunday at both services. This meal that Christ first celebrated with his disciples is a promise to us that in bread and wine we are encountered by our living Lord through his body and blood. It is in this meal where we receive the forgiveness of our sins. Designated gluten free bread and wine are available.
Do my kids sit with me?
All children are always welcome in worship. We do offer Sunday School for 3 year olds - 5th graders that begins at 8:45 am and then they will join the service after the message. They have a designated place to sit with their teachers and classmates, but are welcome to sit with you if they prefer. We also offer a staffed nursery for infants - 3 year olds that is open from 8:45 am - noon for those who would like to use it.
Will I be asked to give money?
Giving is a big step in a person's faith life. We understand that you need to know the ministry that GPS is a part of and whether or not you are called to be a part of it before you give money towards it. It's fine to pass the basket on by, but please be in prayer and conversation as a household about how you can support the ministries of GPS.
What is the overall environment like?
Before we moved into our current building, we worshiped in a movie theater, and that has shaped our worship experience! We have comfy seats, screens up front, and free coffee and treats. The relaxed atmosphere of a church will welcome you in!
