get involved

There are lots of ways to connect and get involved in the outreach programs, activities and ministries of GPS. Click any of the links below to learn how to get involved.

  • Farmers Market and Community Gardens

GPS hosts a summer farmers market on site and the organizers are always looking for people interested in helping with set up, tear down, planning, POP Club, and more! Our Community Gardens team would welcome people with green thumbs to help during the summer with planting, tending and harvesting. Click to learn more.

  • Maple Elementary School

GPS works closely with Maple Elementary school, one of the schools in the Harlem District #122. We have opportunities for mentoring students, helping with school supplies, supporting teaching staff at the school, and our yearly back-to-school barbecue. Click to learn more.

  • Mobile Food Pantry and Helping Hands Pantry

GPS co-sponsors two pantries for residents of the Parks community. Click to learn more.

  • Nursery Volunteer

Nursery volunteers assist our nursery staff member. Volunteers can be high school age or older. For more information, contact us.

  • Prayer and Care

Our Prayer and Care team prays for our members and our community, conducts twice yearly services of prayer and worship, maintains the Meal Train, home communion visitors, and oversees the funeral committee. Would you like to join the team in this vital ministry of GPS? Contact us!

  • Sunday Morning Service

There are lots of ways to help make our Sunday morning worship experience warm, friendly and inviting. Are you musical? You could join our Waypoint band.  Computer savvy? Join our media team to run the sound and video during worship. Have the gift of hospitality? Help serve coffee, make fellowship time treats, or greet at the door. Don't want to commit to something long term? Grab a "job tag" when you enter GPS to usher, light candles or help with communion just for that day. We could use your help! Contact us for more information.

  • Sunday School Teacher

Sunday School for ages 3 through 5th grade meets on Sunday mornings at 8:45 from August through May. Classes are split into two age groups (pre-K to 1st and 2nd to 5th) and two teachers are needed each week. You can sign up for one week or ten. Lesson plans and all materials are provided.
